There is a parallel
between Bhagat ji and S. Bhagwant singh Dilawari. Bhagatji throughout
his life lived as per the dictates of
Gurbani carrying out Seva and Simran. Dilawari ji continues
on the same lines and has no equal today in actually practicing
Sikhism. Thoughts of Dilawari ji speak out loudly what Bhagat
ji practiced, not that they were written with Bhagat ji in mind,
but due to the reason that both of them practiced religion as
prescribed by the Sikh Gurus and the sacred Gurbani. Dilawari
ji says :-
1. Seva must be totally self less and without personal gain.
2. Seva must be non-discriminatory and
with love and respect for the beneficiaries.
3. Seva must encompass remembrance of
the Lord for whom it is being done and Guru’s feet should
reign in the Sikh’s heart.
4. Seva must have another aim : to learn
humility and to live humbly in day to day life.
5. Seva for the Guru should teach the
Sevadar the real purpose : Sarab Mein Pekhe Bhagwan.
Nothing could describe the thinking and
works of Bhagat ji better than the above quoted words of Dilawari
ji.
There is only one reason for the similarity
and that is ‘ their words match their deeds.
